Id never pay anyone £28 to do that.
£28 was for a replacement header tank, not labour charges. I'm sure BMW would want a lot more to change the radiator.

expansion tank is part of the rad and its the bit that always fails. Seems daft IMO that you cant replace the tank separately especially when the new rad is the best part of £100

It will be looking at the readings from the coolant temp sensor (obviously), but I have no idea what temperature the ECU decides to turn it on ... |
