Just had an Main dealer Inspection 2 @ 51,000 miles on my 330i Sport.
Visual Heath Check Summary Report came up with folowing advisories.
Rear brakes-70% wear. Pads worn. Labour £83.20 Parts £56.89 =£161.10
Drive belts-Alternator belt worn. Labour 49.92 Parts £24.18 = £85.22
Additional- o/s/f lower wheel arch trim has come adrift needs refitting £49.92
Total = £296.24
Now i go to my main dealer for service to keep up the service book but dont mind getting the work done at my local BMW specialist.
Just need some guidance on the Main dealer prices and how urgent the work is ? |

161 quid are they having a bloody laugh rear pads fitted should be no more than £80 fitted gen pads cost £30-£40 from stealers. also is main dealer stamps worth much more at resale time me thinks not. wheel arch trim prob needs new clips at cost of approx £4 and takes 10 mins alternator belt fitted would be about £50. fucking hate over inflated dealer prices if they charged a bit less they would keep more customers and not be in the shit.
the dealers round here charge a ruddy fortune and cant fix a car for shit. |

Alternator belt is a piece of piss - only about 20 mins work max... easy DIY I've done it myself a few times, and have posted a DIY in the past on here - best change the air-con belt (about £8 ) at the same time since you have to remove it to remove the alternator belt.
Rear pads are a piece of piss too - although 70% worn will still give a few thousand miles yet.
I imagine you can fit the trim back yourself easily too.
So probably could do it all yourself for about £80 in parts!!! |

| Of thats just pads then it's shocking, I had my local indy replace the discs and pads and it was £200 along with a 4 wheel alignment. |

If you've no need to use a stealer then don't! Find yourself a good indy and you'll not go back,I have! Stealers can cock off! |
