Hi All

Just had MOT, The Garage passed it but gave me an Advisory Notice, there are a couple of things he noticed.

1. Wear detected in steering column
2. OSF Inner Lower Ball Joint is worn.

Can anybody tell me if they have come accross the 2 issues above and couuld you tell me if they might be covered by the used car warranty ?

car still got warranty until 14FEB.

Any info, advice appreciated as allways

Thanks

Dave

I did replace a few weeks ago the swivel joint. item #4. the rubber bush was worn and caused my steering wheel to "click" when I turned it left/right.

I had my bottom ball joint replaced under warranty a couple of years ago. Had to argue a bit though, and after a call to bmw uk customer services to moan.

got sorted in the end. i understand the deciding factor was the mileage on my car, which was very little on average. 17k on a 3 yr old car.

Worth asking the dealer if these are common problems on your car. Mine has just failed the MOT on a rear coil spring which they have agreed to replace free of charge as a goodwill gesture (parts and labour) because they see quite a few of them with this problem.
